Does this mean that Boldon,Marsden and Seaham will stay where they are in 2012?? This could mean major changes in all leagues over the next few years as some clubs will see what happens in 2012 then wait and see if any leagues advertise then move on the following year and in the end one league is sure to fold

yep they will stay as they are. If either the DSL or PL2 takes off their will be a scramble for positioning and it could make things very hetic and probably very interesting

Oh well at least it preserves the HLSL two division system for a season.

I thought it didn't matter what league you were in for the HLSL, as long as your 3rd team was affiliated to a proper cricket team? I'm aware that the NEPL has its own 3rd team commitments (Thursday nights?!) but surely most would still be able to get a team out? Also, how many teams from the HLSL would be jumping ship to the NEPL - if that makes sense.

I thought it had been accepted but they'd be allowed back if the 2nd Division didn't get sorted straight away?

NEPL 3rd teams is a Sunday 45 over competition.

Apparently Marsden have been accepted into the Senior League for 2012, but there will be no further changes before 2013.

The NEPL has compulsory Sunday 3rd team cricket but that wasn't what I was thinking of. Basically if the DSL expands whilst staying as one division they will have to play lots of double weekends which would preclude teams from playing in the HLSL too.

Now the NEPL have advertised for clubs for their Second Division all leagues will know early next year how many clubs they potentially will lose,if the DSL are no longer part of the pyramid will that mean that the DCL and DCCL will be feeder leagues into the NEPL Second Division ??.If the rumours about Tynedale,Morpeth,Ashingto n happen to be true what would happen if say Morpeth finished bottom and the DCL winners wanted promotion, would that mean a straight swap and Morpeth travelling down here every other week to Southern parts of Durham ?? i cannot honestly see this being a way forward and any clubs thinking about moving on will have to have a lot of questions answered before they do so.

It's interesting that Marsden have been accepted into the DSL for 2012 as they used to have ambitions for the NEPL 2 which is now advertising for new clubs to join in 2013.

Would they dare apply for that as well ?
