Looks like we could be left behind, seaham harbour and washington's grounds are awful after reading the list of applicants.
You need to ask your clubs committee to be honest, everyone had the chance to apply.

Just out of curiosity, what's awful about Washingtons ground?

Sunderland cc have rugby played on their ground so I doubt a bumpy outfield is a problem and its hardly a reason to call it awful

    Good junior set up

    Pavilion had been modernised

No decent covers when we were there last year

Washington is a lovely little ground and club

I mean as in wavy, its up and down all over. The pavilion is alright, just the outfield is crap. Little hills everywhere, its not very flat

Burnmoor have had ample opportunityto move into NEPL when they have won the DSL - they just don't want to.

Their first team is full of good, but older players who don't want to entertain the possibility of all day cricket so they don't apply - it's as simple as that.

Big fish, little pool springs to mind.

Nowt wrong with Washington they are showing ambition, they were in the NEDL not so long ago.

Washington have a crap first team and will get lashed off everyone. I know burnmoor don't want too move up to the nepl, just don't see why all the other clubs are abandoning the league they've played in for a number of years. Plus i don't think we have the money for nepl, we've been saving for an electronic scoreboard for about 3 years now.

When was the last time you played Washington 1st team? I know we have never played against Burnmoor recently so I guess your answer is never.

We won the league cup last season and were only beat 3 times in the league. 9 players under 24. We are a young and improving team. If we were accepted it will be tough but a couple new faces and experienced heads and I think we'll surprise a few teams.

When the NEPL started Chester and South North were no where near the best clubs in the north east. We are ambitious with a good structure and certainly not scared of a bit hard work. Everyone has to start from somewhere.
