    Default RIP Spartacus

Andy Whitfield, the fella who played Spartacus in the recent fantastic TV series, died yesterday of the cancer he'd been suffering from.

    Totally gutted :'(

    RIP fella.

I was shocked as the impression had been given that he was recovering well, even if we knew he wasnt returning to the show.

Well, the third series has been filmed with another actor (an Aussie called Liam McIntyre).

Edit: 3rd series if you take Gods of the Arena as the second.

Yes. They actually re-cast the Spartacus role a while back when Whitfield announced that he'd had a recurrence of the cancer.

It's probably been my favourite ever series on TV, Gods of the Arena was good but Blood And Sand was just superb. I think I had a bit of a guy crush on Andy Whitfield
