Over the years how many of these players that were successful in Scotland have turned out to be a Larsson? And how many have turned out to be a Scott MacDonald?

As has been said too... Scottish Football is far worse than it was 10 years ago. It used to be Lower Prem/Upper Championship level... now its about Lower Championship/Upper League 1 standard.

A couple of points.

There is absolutely no way the bid tabled was anything like 9m. Where did this come from... 'Rangers Media'. They are just talking up their own player in the hope of getting a great price.

If any sort of solid bid (not incorporating add-ons etc) was put forward, Jelavic would be off. Rangers are up to their eye balls in debt from the tax man atm.

Lastly, Jelavic is worth no where near £9m. As already said the standard of the SPL is nothing like what it used to be with Larsson et al.

David Goodwillie looked the best striker in the SPL and he went to Blackburn for around £3m. Now granted he may not have had the goals but he was at Dundee United. in that rangers team I firmly believe he could have been banging them in.

Oh btw I'm a Hearts fan but for what its worth there is a wee insight from someone watching the SPL.

For every Larsson there are probably 500 who wouldnt make it. E.g look at Kris Boyd who scored 101 goals in 143 appearances for Rangers and he failed to make an impact at championship level.

Andy Carroll in Liverpool was always a recipe for disaster. He barely got away with his antics up here in a much smaller, one club city.
