Well I suppose they got Upson and Woodgate for free, and they're cracking signings if they can be kept fit. So I guess it balances out. If you look at it differently, you could say they got Woodgate, Upson, Crouch and Palacios for £20m - which doesn't look too bad to me.

They seem to be going for it this season like.

Palacios is well worth the £8million reported, crouch on the other hand....
