Default People who are from a city of one of the big 5 but support a team in the NE

    Is there anything more stupid.

London born, I had the choice of Chelsea but being born in Edmonton more likely a Spurs or an Arsenal, but no, I stupidly moved to Sunderland and it got in my blood, now I have to suffer like the rest of you.

good retort to the earlier post. Sunderland AFC is both a curse and a blessing to its followers but collectively we are all sunderland fans, no matter where your from.

Do you know what, I wouldn't swap it for the world. I experienced Roker Park in it's gloom, Roker Park in it's most electrifying and spine tingling and have seen relegations and promotions at the SOL. Who wants the boredom of top 4 every season???

    It's shit isn't it.

I was born in central Sunderland, dad and grandad took me to the match from an early age. Moved the other way to you and spent 10 years in "the smoke" and stupidly came back. However at no point did my love and following of SAFC diminish.

Now I'm back, week in week out and going to meaningless pre season friendlies and away games, with expectation rather than hope after the raft of new signings.

Being SAFC supporters we should know expectation is not for us.

My son was born in London and has never lived in the north east but him not being a Sunderland fan was never an issue. His first game was Millwall away at the old Den (he must be one of the youngest people to have been there as he was 2 and the ground closed at the end of that seaon). I can't believe some parents who allow their kids not to support Sunderland wherever they live/where born
