    Default My derby experiences...

Im 18 years old, been a season ticket holder for around 11 years but i think my earliest derby where i sort of knew what was going on was the 1-4 at the SOL where shearer went off injured. Anyway, the last 3/4 derbys i've really knew what people meant when they start thinking about it weeks in advance and how much it actually means. But i've learned something, (about the derbys i've been at or watched on the box) no matter what my expectations for the derby game are, we seem to constantly bottle it The one exception being the 2-1 under keano. The last 3 especially, we went into the last 3 and i genuinely thought, no bias whatsoever, that we would do them over.

I dont think i'm ever going to be optimistic about a derby again in my life, no matter what the circumstances of it.

Get used to it. It's been 20 years for me and a lot longer for most

    Standard under Bruce.

Even the useless fuckers under Mic Mac could at least manage a draw....against a far better team.

Don't worry lads. Expect to get beat next time and we'll turn them over. It's just the over confidence we all suffer from

If it wasn't for 2 very late and in Gyans case lucky break goals ...............

Bruce's record against the Mags would read:

    Played 3

    Lost 3

    For 0

    Against 7

I wasn't defending Bruce's derby record, just pointing out that we were no better under Mic Mac when it came to derbies.

Did we ? Can't be arsed to trawl the net. Who was in charge when Higginbotham scored ? Old age and all that

Keane when Higginbotham scored. Keano had a lot of faults as a manager (more than Bruce overall) but he did alright in the derby games tbf.
