Looking at that team i feel we need an experienced player with a cool calm and collected attitute on the left to cope with bartons bullshit, I feel although it is not his priority position Vaughan will do a excellent job for us there on Sat..? The rest of the team picks itself really. With Catts coming out saying we need experience, meaning gardner is likely to replace Colback dispite him doing nothing wrong.

That will not be the way the Mags line up as bizarrely you've put Jonas in a central midfield three. Him and Obertan will be right and left with the other three playing central if they were to send out that personnel.

I can't see there being too many changes for us and I can't understand why so many people are desperate to get Colback, and to a lesser extent Elmohamady out of the team after the way we played on Saturday.

Need to play Elmo and use his pace to get at their makeshift left back Ryan Taylor.

This game is too big for Colback and Gardner has too start.

If Taylor is at LB then I'd start Elmo on the right, in the Arsenal game every time Gervinho ran at Taylor he seemed to shit himself and Elmo is the only winger we have with pace.

Ok smart arse maybe it wasnt clear the way i presented it but barton and gutierez will be on the wings. With Tiote sitting deep and cabaye/obertan having an attacking free role.

We were poor in the first half. And they both have a lack of experience. Thought that was clear in the OP

But we were excellent in the second half, and Gardner has looked extremely pedestrian in pre-season. A central midfield of him and Cattermole does not strike me as having the makings of a successful partnership.

Probably because Gardner is a bit of a nasty piece himself at times. He likes a tackle and is used to these derbies (played in numerous brum derbies). He offers more of a goal scoring threat also.
