Very true, and according to reports by Lee Ryder in the EC today Pardew has insisted there would be no more departures this summer.

Pardew. He has less say than you man.

I've seen a lot more of you lot than any Sunderland fan should openly admit to to be honest, and he was probably your stand out defender last season. Started off poor, then spent a season in the championship, found himself, and wasn't as shite as the rest of your defence last year. He was one of the first names on the teamsheet every week!!

Just checked Wiki for stats too, and he's played over 100 games for you in the last 3 years, that doesn't really smack of a player who wouldn't be starting every game for you this season, especially given that you haven't signed a centre back, and got rid of Sol. There's no sugarcoating the fact that IF he goes, and it's a big if given that it's a twitter rumour, he'll be a huge loss to you.

I'm seriously beginning to think Pardew got wrong off Fat Ash for finishing so high up the league last season, and that now he's aiming to finish as close to 17th place as possible without actually going down.

A "So Alan, how many of our players can I sell and still not get relegated?" kind of thing.

If you think about it, the best possible result for Ashley is to get promoted, stay up, asset strip then sell up. He's spent fuck all and has several hundred millions worth of sponsorship and player sales built up. It's the only way he'll break even, and I'm certain Pardew was aware of the slash and burn policy when he was handed his 5 1/2 contract.

Their relegation was but a hors d'oeuvre.

I thought he was shite the first season with the mags, and then season before last i didnt
really see much of him as i dont watch much championship football. But i thought he looked
decent last season, good news if hes off, but i dont think he will be imo.

Don't be silly. He is, by some distance, the best CB plying his trade in the North East currently.
