Career records tell you nothing. I'd have thought you'd learnt that lesson after the Muntari fiasco. If you judge players on their career records, especially when you're also undoubtedly looking through rose tinted specs, then it's no surprise your judgement is so awfully skewed. I still cannot believe Wes fucking Brown is rated so highly on here.

Using your words, he would walk into your team. So would Ferdinand, and he's poor.

Totally agree, Wes Brown has only won numerous trophies and played in Man Utd's champions league final team in 2008. He's shite like

So using that logic then, you've based your opinion on fuck all since O'Shea and Brown have not played for us yet.
They are both class acts, they have 600 games for the best team in the country between them ffs. Sideshow Bob has had one decent season in the Prem, and a season where he was completely shite too.

Aye and here's the honours list of another top defender..
Premier League (2): 1995–96, 1996–97
FA Cup (2): 1995–96, 1998–99
FA Community Shield (2): 1994, 1996
UEFA Champions League (1): 1998–99
.. once you've figured out who I'd hope you'd see how flawed that logic is.
Ironically enough, he played the exact same role Brown has for the past decade.

And this is what the ignorant football fan, yourself included, bases their opinions of him on. Everyone just seemed to mark him down as shite due to a troubled first season (where in all fairness to the lad, he played in front of Geremi, Alan Smith and Nicky Butt and alongside players like Cacapa) and are unwilling to alter their opinion. If you'd watched him last season, he was man of the match at your place so you've no excuse not to have paid attention, you'd realise he's so much more than that.
As for Brown, I'm extremely confident I'll be able to come back in a years time and very smugly say "I told you so."

Actually, you might want to check out their career records too. I'm sure all three's look fairly decent pre-Newcastle. Players from top 4 clubs, on the way down, looking for one last payday rarely work; it's a very slippery slope.

So your saying a very experienced defender who has played hundreds of games for the best team in Premier League history, even the best club in English history with 19 titles to their name is shite. Whilst a defender who had a terrible season then a good one in a shite league then a decent one in a team that over achieved is better?
Alright then. I think it's about time you fucked off and stopped boring people.
