India Knight - Hypocrite - Sunday Times
This is a poor thread because I can't directly quote the Sunday Times.
(You need a subscription to get it online.)
Anyway, I just wanted to get it off my chest because I feel so angry.
In this week's edition India Knight, who I've trusted as a journalist for years, addressed the jailing of Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour.
Because she's a friend of the family she trotted out one of the most sickening defences I've ever seen in my life ......... she used every clichéd excuse you could imagine for why this 'sensitive boy' shouldn't have been locked up.
"Yes he was on LSD, slaughtered and had taken other drugs but so had other people."
"Yes he had swung from the Union flag on the Cenotaph war memorial, thrown missiles and sat on a car in the Royal convoy but is that so bad?"
What a vomit inducing hypocrite.
If this had been some benefit scrounging tosser she'd have crucified him but because he was a 'sensitive child' from an incredibly privileged background the authorities had 'cruelly made an example of him'.
I won't bother reading her column again which is a shame as I've always trusted her.
