    Default Techy help

I've got a Packard Bell TJ61 laptop which I recently installed Windows 7 ultimate on. I've downloaded most of the drivers that I need but I've been looking for a webcam driver but can't seem to find one anywhere. Tried the drivers for a similar model packard bell but they wouldn't recognise the webcam.

    Any suggestions.

Is it turned on in the BIOS, or by a physical switch? They're sometimes controlled like that to defend against use by malware.

I can't see anything about it in the BIOS and as far as I'm aware there isn't a physical switch to turn it on.

The things I've downloaded from the Packard Bell site seem to be applications rather than drivers, there's no webcam drivers listed for my model, and as I've said the drivers for a similar model failed and said the camera wasn't recognised and told me to connect a camera and try again.

Have you let Windows search online for the driver? 7's pretty good at getting what it needs.

Yep, it didn't find anything though. I'm close to giving up now. My sister has the same laptop, which she got at the same time and she has the recovery disks I think. She might even have all the original drivers on one of the disks. Cheers for the help.
