At the time we were after Bent - but we refused to pay 3 million for him ( or even less) but then went and spent the same on Stead & Gray. Bent scored 2 goals against us on the opening day at home ( S'land 0 -3 Charlton) - more than the disastrous duo managed for us all year iirc.

It was 3-1 Andy Gray Scored to make it 1-1 before Murphy's free kick made it 2-1 and Bent made it 3-1.

Kelvin Davis blamed losing his voice on his poor performance.
