    Default Plant climber advice

could advise me on a plant, creeper, or climber good for screening a section of wall about 3 m x 1m that will grow in a trough about 3 metres long 12 inches wide and 12 inches deep?

why aye mate, you will need to keep ontop of the trimming down like cause if you leave it too long it will be a bitch to cutback. Why not make some brackets to put the trough up on the top of the wall so it grows downover will look canny that

Its hard to explain but the wall is two bricks thick, and about 1.5 m from the top goes to 1 brick thick, so is kind of a recess in wall. T

here is seating getting built below and wall getting painted purple so the shitty bit on the top of wall was planning on fiixing some battons and some metal gauze for a climber wich will grow to hide the recess, but then i realised it has to be in some kind of soil derrrrr.

So going to make a trough out of some old decking and fix that to the ledge in recess, was thinking ivy like as it will be a good contrast, never thought of fastening it on the top of the wall and getting it to grow down guess thats better than it climbing up and over next door.

Might just have to do a hausers helmet and post the results, never had green fingers like but in process of getting all back done and am getting into it i can imagine its satisfying seing everything grow!

ps how long does ivy take to grow like?

Ivy grows canny quick like, you can usually buy some plants that have been potted so are already underway. If you're not green fingered this will probably be the better option as ivy is really hardy stuff mate.
