Default Managers who have taken a 'step-down'

Can you think of many succesfull managers who have got bored and decided to take on a bigger challenge. I'm talking about managers who have resigned or left of their own accord at the end of a contract.

Probably the main one is Brian Clough who resigned from Derby to rule Europe with Second Division Notts Forest.

Steve Coppell left City after 6 games in charge of City to become Chief Scout at Palace.

Me on Football Manager. Left a Sunderland team riding high in the Premier League, with two league titles, a European Cup, and four successive years of Champions League qualification to manage Gillingham.

I was sacked four months later.

I think you got that a little wrong, Clough was sacked by Derby, then was sacked by Leeds and only went to Forest after some time at Brighton

Wasn't wrong about him resigning from Derby, he did and they accepted it
