Default I'd like advice from someone that works for a retailer of electrical goods please

    Eloquent title.

Anyway, turns out a shower that was bought on Friday won't play ball - the 'low pressure' light keeps coming on. The shower was fitted by a plumber and he's more than happy with the water pressure. He inferred it may be the PCB inside the unit.

Having already spent a stupid amount on buying and installing the shower my father's decided that it's going back instead of having the manufacturer send an engineer out (potentially more money).

As the unit has already been used (couldn't really tell otherwise) what's the likelihood of this particular electrical retailer taking the product back or exchanging it for another? Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 the onus is on the retailer the prove the unit was up to the job at the time of sale? However, it needed to be installed before anyone could know.

    Thoughts?

Have you got the paperwork with the shower. There's usually a hotline number to ring if you have a problem with a new unit. I've always found them pretty good tbh, tell them the problem and take their advice. You might save yourself a shitload of work removing the shower if it's a problem that they can sort quickly. ( Just a thought, did he flush the pipework before he fitted the shower, a little obstruction in a 15mm pipe can sometimes show up as low pressure, because the flow is restricted)

I re-commissioned the shower earlier - still no joy. Followed every step as it said.
My father rang the advice line earlier and they said there could be a call-out charge to pay if the issue is found not to be of their (the manufacturer) making. We got a third-party company out to install the shower and you hope he's done it right.

Technically an obstruction will increase pressure and reduce flow rate

    Pechnically?

Flow rate and pressure are two very different things like.
