Yet another recommend me a holiday thread.

It seems to be the theme today, so here goes...

Going to be back in the UK from middle July to middle August and I'd like to take the folks away for a week or so (they need a break), budget wont be big and want to go somewhere not too far from the north-east, Scottish borders, North Yorkshire, Lakes type thing. Want somewhere scenic where we can take the dog for a walk. I realise this is peak holiday season, but you never know. Anyone have any bright ideas?

So, briefly, a place for 4 people and a dog.
