Our Away Form For The 2010/2011 Season
I haven't seen much, if any, praise on here for Bruce with regards to him sorting out our away form in the past season.
We won 5, drew 6 and lost 8 of our away games, which is certainly an improvement since we've been back in the Premier League.
In 2007/2008 we won 2, drew 3 and lost 14 of our away games. In 2008/2009 we won 3, drew 6 and lost 10 of our away games. In 2009/2010 we won 3, drew 4 and lost 12 our of away games.
So, this season is our first since our return to the Premier League under Keane that we've won over 20 points away from home and I make our away record this past season the best outside the top 6. Considering how poor we usually are away from home (as our most of the sides positioned 10th-20th in the league table each season) that's a massive achievement.
Another point I'd like to make is that although we did pick up more points at home, it seemed to me that the players often seemed a lot more relaxed when playing away from home and perhaps the somewhat poisonous atmosphere that crept into the Stadium of Light from around the middle of January onwards isn't helping matters at all, as the away crowds usually tend to be a lot more vocal and supportive, especially towards the end of the past season.
Either way, credit to Bruce and co along with the players too. Our away form has certainly picked up and hopefully it continues next season

We've been alot better away from home this season, it's still annoying seeing loses against Wolves, Stoke, WBA, Birmingham, Newcastle whilst we've got a point at Liverpool, Spurs, beaten Chelsea.
Home form since 2011 has been pretty dire to say the least.

So are we allowed to discredit them for letting the home form go to shit?

appalling bait and the smell of it wasnt disgused by its volume.............
The home record points to a very soft touch and thats what we became without warning and to sides in the main we should have been beating..............
Two late away wins and one at a club in total turmoil neither prove nor discount a thing................

Yeah, well done Steve for our decent away form.
Also well done for our truly embarrassing home record towards the end of the season.

Exactly right, thats what worrys me next season, this has been one of the main reasons for out recent relegations, we need the crowd behind us.

Course it has an impact, get behind the team, anything else only has a negative impact. Especially on such a young side.

Even when we went through our horrendous run the crowd never got on the player's backs until we were 3-0/3-1 down against some fairly ordinary teams.
Given how bad the players were towards the end of the season the crowd were absolutely superb; not once, while we were still in the game did the fans get substantially on the player's case.
Anyone who tries to blame our support for our abysmal home record is a fucking idiot.
