    Default Balace Transfer Credit Cards

Looking to apply for a new balance transfer credit card, I've currently got 2 with a little bit on and I'm paying interest on them.

I've recently checked my credit report on CreditExpert and I had a bit of bother with Vodafone for a past phone contract which was the only bad mark on my report, however this was Vodafones fault and I've since had my report amended so I've had no missed payments, no defaults etc. I'm up to date on all payments and have no overdue accounts.

Recently applied for a balance transfer credit card at Natwest and Virgin and both where declined and I'm struggling to see why, I've been in my current position for 9 months now so it's not as if I've just started work and can easily manage my current monthly payments, they are rather small.

Anyone have any ideas on why I would have been declined or any tips on getting a card else where?

Leave it for awhile, two credit searches and refusals won't look good at the minute. Then try your own bank?

I did for 2 months so I could check to make sure Vodafone had amended my credit report correctly. CreditExpert where quite helpful in getting this changed for me.

Yeah, I understand 2 refusals aren't going to look good so I'll have to wait around 3-6 months before trying again. Problem being, I bank with Halifax, have a credit card with them and one with BarclayCard, so I couldn't transfer a balance from a Halifax card to another Halifax card.
