I think until recently when he had an average side RP has been a good captain, the caveat being he lead an exceptional side. Like arseholes and everyone has one I think the pressure on maintaining aussie wins got the better of him.

Broad has shown petulence in the past but I don't really mind his competetive attitude, rather have that than another Andy Caddick going missing under pressure. He usually comes across as a decent lad off the pitch so while it's an interesting and potentially risky appointment, I think he might have the tools to do it.

It's good that england are thinking of the future here. Cook will replace strauss as test captain at some point and then broad will move to ODI. It's all good experience for the lad and I hope he does well.
