    Default Ex instructor cars

Anyone ever had one, knowingly or not? Or got any opinions?

Lookin at a new shape Fiesta and pretty much all of them with an F- prefix (eg FE10, FN09 etc) are from Hitachi capital, the driving instructor lease company.

Theyre on lease anywhere from 12-24 months and serviced every 12.5k miles.

You can buy em direct from them and it knocks about a grand off the price - still got the Ford warranty anarl.

Anyone ever had an ex instructor car?

Don't know about buying one but I gave my son my corsa that I used for instruction when it had 60k on the clock and he sold it at about 90k - with the original clutch. It would all depend how good the instructor was as to how they taught and if they made sure that the learner did not ride the clutch, always got to the highest gear possible as soon as possible and looked after it when they were driving it themselves. I would suspect that if the instructor had leased the car it would be similar to buying an ex-rental car!

My instructor had one from them and always looked after it as if it were his own - he said the charges they made for damage etc were extortionate and that any problems would mean it'd be off the road so he kept it nice.

And pretty sure mine is ex-rental from Arriva Fleet stamp in service book (53 plate - previous owner bought in 05) - i had it 18mo ago and its been pretty good.
