I guess if they think they can sell it out. Their logic will be

    Australia has significantly bigger grounds
Australia has a significantly lower population
The Ashes is a huge deal

    They will sell out.

Its shit like, but then again I entered the Olympics ballot today, fucking ridiculous

Durham members get first choice before the ECB, ticket agencies, overseas applicants etc etc, I think it'll sell out no problem and even the Durham members aren't guaranteed every day they apply for as they make sure everyone gets at least one day. Compare it to the cost of watching football (per hour) and it's fairly reasonable. Also, if you commit to buy and can't make the date there's an exchange policy in place but it isn't fully explained how it works.

I'll probably buy a ticket but I resent paying £70 for one.

£350 to see the whole 5 days, thats madness.

And I ask again, why should Durham members get preference?

A bit like when Wembley was closed, should Man Utd have got first dibs for England games played at Old Trafford?

I suppose it's to try and give.....cringeworthy phrase coming up....'genuine cricket fans' some reward for their loyalty.

Thats all well and good, but is an Essex fan less of a fan than a Durham fan? And Chelmsford is never gonna stage an Ashes test now is it...

It's only fair that those who back Durham get their chance to see the biggest game ever held on the ground. There will still be plenty of tickets to go around for the England fans.

    Drivel.

By that logic, we should all get UEFA cup final tickets were the final to come to the SOL

Now would it be wrong of me to point out that there are usually two Ashes tests in London, I appreciate not Essex ?

Ah but those tickets should be reserved for Middlesex and Surrey members surely?
