    Default Soft Goals

We hear players and mangers talking about conceding 'soft goals' but how do you define them? Just watched the highlights of West Brom game and I would say their 2nd and 3rd were both well worked rather than soft defensively.

They were well worked, but none of our mob tried to put a fucking foot it and tackle them at any point.

Soft goals are where the defending as Saxton would say is weak as piss. If its a good passing move where tackles are just being missed fair enough but standing like tins of milk, ball watching and spineless are soft goals.

First was 'soft'. standing motionless watching their lad head the ball

2nd or 3rd one (can't recall which) Cattermole runs to the player with the ball then pulls out and spreads his arms in a ' i'm not making tackle' gesture. (which he did a fair few times after his booking).

Powdered milk always comes in a tin. Not very popular hence stays on the shelves a long time hence "standing around like a tin of milk".

We are actually quite good and providing such examples.

Lst week, a slow looping ball in the box is headed unchallenged on our penalty spot for a knock-down for them to score. Soft.

Anytime Stoke kick the ball in the general direction of our goal and the players start to panic, especially the goalie. Soft.

When Nolan gets in our box and dares to stand close to the keeper where follows copious amounts of bed-wetting and the inevitable goal. Soft.

The third was weak as piss man. Just fannied about passing it with ne one going to put a foot in or even try.

cattermle looked either knackered / couldn't be arsed / scared to tackle. Probabaly mixture of them all.

The first was a disgrace at that level

for premier league players to stand and watch an opposition player head the ball in your own box is disgusting

and thats what we are at the minute throwing goals away like that - disgraceful/disgusting
