Re: All this "Bruce Out" bollocks
No. Most of us have come to the reasonable conclusion that Bruce will never take us anywhere other than the lower reaches of the Premier League with no chance of ever winning a cup competition.
In short, he just isn't good enough.

As opposed to the delusional fans who think 8 games without a win, 7 hours without a goal before West Brom, 3rd worst for goals scored in the league and a 14 match run last season without a win is acceptable you see

Aye, cause any one with the username 'Nuggsy' obviously knows a great deal about football.

With a bit of a level head, you could see that within those 8 games, it's only really West Brom and Stoke that are results that should've been different, and they could've turned out very different.
What would you consider acceptable then? After this many games, how many points, and what position is acceptable? 43 (5 more than we have now), and 2 points off 6th? 40 points, and 9th place? or two points less than that, after a tough run of fixtures and a game we should've won, which would've given us 1 more point than that if we'd won it.

But so what. That's not how football works. You win because you have the best players, and lots of money. Moreso than ever now, the two are linked.
Two seasons a go we escaped relegation. Last season, we bought one good player and one or two better players and we did a bit better, came midtable.
This season, we bought another good player, and added some more better players, and did better again. But in January money talked to one of our players, who left, left us in a time when it is notoriously hard to find a sensible deal, as the whole Torres/Carroll thing proved. Teams with more money bought better players and got better. We stood still, because we couldn't afford the stakes they were playing at, then played the better teams more or less in a row, and lost all but one.
All the other teams in a similar situation-some money, some talent-have pretty much the same points as us. Those who have less money and less talent are below, and those who have more money and more talent are above.
Wanting can't break this pattern I'm afraid. We won't climb til we have more talent and more money. It's how it works. Given what we do have, we fit right in the middle, and that's where we are. It's a very pragmatic way of looking at things maybe, but it seems to be borne out by how it works out in actuality.

With a bit of a level head, you could see that we have only won 1 in 11.

This is an ideal cup team if we go for it i.e play our best 11. Given the way football is now, if anything, this is the future for me.

So what would you consider and acceptable number of points at this stage of the season?
Over the course of the season, you tend to have peaks and troughs. A lot of people were getting all giddy and excited when we were in 6th not so long ago - let's be realistic, we were punching above our weight then. We're having our trough now, lets see if we can pick it up and finish in the top half.
