Default Pub for Saturday lunch - recomendations

Going down to Stockton tomorrow with mrs p (nee pics) to look at a car

fancy a drive somewhere for lunch while were out and about, any ideas? Don't fancy driving into a town or city (ie darlo or Durham etc) but other than that anywhere within a reasonable (say 30-45 mins) drive from A19 considered

    Cheers in advance

The grub in one of the pubs in Thorpe Thewles was canny enough last time I was in.

I think it was the Hamilton Russell one.

    Then there's always Wynyard Park.

The pub in Elton used to do good food anarl, but it's been ages since I was there unlike the first two that I've been in within the last year.

Within walking distance [across muddy fields] from my parents' place, but also just off the Sedgefield to Stockton road so dead easy to find.

Just asked the good lady. You can tell she's a common Stocktonian, as she recommended a Wetherspoons
