Staying till the end, or not
For the first time in ages, I left before the final whistle yesterday, started off on 90 mins and went straight out at the North Stand (i.e. didn't do the long walk round to the SE corner).
- No queues from my seat to the concource - usually takes 5-10mins
- No queues from Sizzlers to the metro station - usually takes another 10mins to walk that bit
- No traffic from where I park all the way home
Its amazing how much of a difference it actually made & I now realise why people do it. It knocked about 30 mins off the normal amount of time it takes.
Despite this, I still won't leave early if we've got any chance of getting something from the game (i.e. 1 goal down, level or winning) - those injury time winners/equalisers are possibly the best moments in football.

Re: Staying till the end, or not
I left slightly early yesterday....
Not due to the piss poor match
Not to get to the bar quicker
Not due to the ref and the cheats
Due to the Liverpool fans.
It fucks me off big style hearing "You'll never walk alone" at the end, knowing the match is over and they are gloating.

Its true, in a way. The back of the North Stand takes forever to start moving.
We usually clap the players off, and then wait wait and wait some more until the queue on the steps starts moving.
I dread to think what would happen if there was a fire / bomb scare. There's no way you could clear out a full ground in under 5 mins.

Re: Staying till the end, or not
I went straight after the second yesterday, it was a spiritless performance in the second half
Unless its a terrible performance and we're never going to get at least a point, I stay til the end, unlike this fella who stands next to us, always leaves with about 15mins to go
He goes to the Wheatsheaf to get a pint before the queue at the bar gets too big

Leave early? I didnt think anyone had bothered turning up yesterday. If i'd shut my eyes I would have thought there was only Liverpool fans in the ground.

Probably because you don't go looking for them like he does.
Read his posts, all he does is complain.
