Pure Football - the Golden Years
There's never a day goes by when someone doesn't mention how good PF used to be, in years gone by, and how high quality the threads were ........... as I missed all that I was wondering what was talked about and how different it was.

I think they mean when it was the smb (both footy and some shite together). I liked the mixture of the two, but used to it now and the smb has improved a bit at times.

It was vibrant, and funny as f&ck.
Roll With It was more tolerable than THELORDROWELL, and less shouty.

iirc when we were really, really shit. Between 2002 and 2006 probably. I'm not one to complain about the current set up, but the number of multiplied tenfold after Keane turned up and especially after promotion.

Re: Pure Football - the Golden Years
The amount of shite spouted pre-season after promotion under keane was mental, seaham hall must have been fully booked out all summer the amount of players that were there

Probably the same amount as now.
However, as we get older we probably become less tolerant of the youngsters, so, now it seems worse. In a lot of ways a few current posters reflect society in general in that they have no respect for others.
There are not so many good posters in terms of football knowledge, and some who used to post good stuff are still about, but keep their heads down most of the time.

As a relative newcomer I've seen a fair amount of disrespect and insulting language from many of the 'older' posters tbh ......... were the original 'gang' friends of each other perhaps?
What was the difference in what was discussed and did people not disagree and argue in those days?
