Fraizer Campbell's return

alot of people have been building up his return and looking forward to it, is it just me who's a bit mixed?

never thought he was that good, will always come in handy due to his pace but never looked what we thought he would be bar the odd game here and there.

I'll be happy to have him back, but i don't expect anything from him bar cming off the bench and worrying defenders. Same goes for next season, can't see him being near the first 11 imo.

I thought he improved the more he played, nice to have as a backup striker but will be interesting to see how much the injury has affected him.

agreed but like, is that not enough?

he cost 3.5m, and his contributions have always been worth that imo.

no he doesnt play as well as someone who cost 10m+ on double/treble the wages but why would he?

He imrpoved towards the end of last sseason but not to the extent some on here believed he had.

i agree, i worry about people expecting too much though. Heard people say we don't need a striker in january because we have welebck and cmapbell coming back. I don't mind campbell and with his injury we wont see much from his this season.

The fee could rise to £6m mate .

I thought he was really starting to kick on the back end of last season and the start of this, he's only young but he's very quick and I think he's started to bring other aspects into his game, started to look a bit more physical than he did when he first came, and dirtier on the pitch which can only be a good thing imo.

I'm not expecting him to rip up trees but he's a canny player to have around the squad and he may well improve into a regular starter in the next few seasons.

I didn't think we needed a striker in January on that basis, basically because I didn't want us to go and panic buy the wrong one in a massively inflated market. It would have been nice to have one, but we didn't need one right then and there because Welbeck and to a lesser extent Campbell were on their way back in. I'm not expecting a lot from him this season, it's more the psychological thing of seeing him on the bench than anything.

hes a decent enough player, can't see where he'd start next year. Gyan welbeck and we'll sign another striker. And i would put him on the right ahead of henderson, sessegnon and probably the same level as elmo.

The great thing about FC is that he provides real flexibility in how he plays. For instance he would be great playing on the right wing in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 - just as he was in the back half of 09/10. He might never make it as a recognised first choice here, but his energy and enthusiasm makes him a very useful player to have in the squad.
