Recommend me a holiday

me and my lass (ne pics) both have the last two weeks off in July and we want a beach/chill out holiday, we were thinking Crete, never been but does anyone have any experiences?

other recommendations would be appreciated.

Went to Crete about 5 years ago and didn't really enjoy it.

Perhaps it was just the resort we stayed in (forget what it was called), but the beach wasn't very good and all the bars and restaurants were too geared up for the 'Full English Breakfast and Del Boy on TV' brigade.

Man, I say it everytime, for a beachy type holiday in the Med you will not beat Skiathos.
9 miles long, 60 odd beaches, all with tavernas, own airport fly from Sunderland North every Friday morning.

Look up Croatia. Probably the most beautiful country i was ever in. Stunning coastline & totally chilled out. No pissheads falling about the streets & very cheap over there.
