Did anyone ever pay any attention to what colour their band was?

I can remember waiting until my colour came around for about the fourth time once, but realised soon enough you could just leave whenever you felt like it.

Used to play ice hockey there.

The rink was never in the redevelopment plans - convenient how they found a problem that couldn't be fixed...

I preferred it when mini was banned.

My memories were getting chased across the rink by staff we were both in trainers.

Jumping from the top level (diving pool) into the swimming pool below

Being banned about 5 times for being a little tinker

One of the staff "stephenson" (I think) hated me and me marras

Having my cool as fuck Nike international lows complete with fat lime green crazy laces stolen from Chesters Play park in 1985. Rather than pay for a locker, I'd hid them behind a curtain and they were liberated while I was playing footy with that sponge ball! Had to report it at reception who called my old man, then had the shame of having to walk along crowtree road in the pissing rain in my terry towelling socks as he'd parked next to hotline and hadn't brought me a spare pair of shoes!!

Also remember going ice skating with some older lasses on a sunday afternoon, my attempt at uber coolness was thwarted when while we were queing to get in, I came over all queasy and puked all over the white barrier and myself on the ramp outside.

Being a regular at the Skate in on a friday night and attempting to look good in my micron mascots (bought from bergs) despite being a shite skater so just sitting on the benches most of the time.

Gold bullion Bars out the vending machines.....the spaceys.....5 a side birthday parties.....

    Class place when growing up.....

We jumped ship to Whitley Bay about a year before it shut as the club wasn't run too well.

Nearest rink now, unless you count those silly outdoor ones they put up in winter, is Whitley Bay or Billingham (which is currently closed for redevelopment).
