I'm not a catholic, but my ex-wife is and my eldest daughter is a catholic so have had to go along to church because its her 1st Holy Communion this year, and my youngest daughter to my current girlfreind who is also a catholic is going to be baptised a catholic, so i've also been going along to church to show my face about this too.

Its got to be said it isnt as bad as what i thought, although i'm not religious and only started going for my daughters it give you some serious time away from the stresses and strains of life and work to really relax your mind and think about the stuff that is important to you!

I'm not going to turn religious, but its a great place just to go and think and totally switch off!

I'm pretty much in the same position....although I do believe in the notion of a higher power/god and I think the catholic church is now a pretty good institution and have been considering converting to catholicism

They are canny to look at inside like, and they do smell nice. I just always associate churches with religion. Should have said religion is bullshit really. That would have been more apt. Churches are canny for weddings and that...

I was in a nice church for a funeral last week.. a local church that I'd never been in. was nice lookign around the place..reading plaques on walls ..understanding some of the local history..
