It has to be a fair valuation though......no good saying £8m is our price, take it or leave it as they will almost certainly leave it. I'm also worried that Liverpool will panic over the next 10 days and throw money around trying to overhaul their team. If Dalglish says he wants him then, contrary to how we do deals, i could see Liverpool just paying what DW wants.

Think we might have to pay what they want or wait until summer & find other teams are in for him.

I know what Whelan is like, but they are a big risk to go down if they start selling players like N'zogbia in this window.

I think Bruce might wait until the summer for this one, his priority seems to be Sessegnon.

good point but what am tryin to say is that if liverpool came callin even tho they're in botton half and we'd not even as much as made an enquiry he would just say well its liverpool how can i refuse a player to go and play for them, i've just got a feeling we'll leave it til the summer when things will be more clear if they're in prem or relegated

Have to say I interpreted him saying he wouldn't stand in his way if a Top6 club came knocking (... and course the fee is big 'n juicy...) the same way. Of course he could've told Charles that, but...

I think this deal is rather likely to go through unless the likes of Liverpool came in with a similar bid. Then we could have a problem convincing the player, but who says we would be without chance... after all we're above them and he may enjoy working with Steve...
