    Default Test of character

So this Sunday will be my 5 year old sons first Derby game, into his second years season ticket and his love of SAFC is massive, which it has to be as we are living in enemy territory in North Shields. All around us are black n White including his mother (will post pics if we lose sod her)

However the tension that comes with a derby is fierce we all know, which this Sunday will be my first Sunderland Newcastle game where a few pints won't be consumed to steady the nerves as not only do I have the boy but driving over from Tyneside, so the fact I will have to try remain composed if Barton goes flying through one of our players or if God forbid they score. Is this possible?

So maybe 3 early goals may stop me from losing my mind and screaming obscenaties therefore my son going back home and telling his mam that she is a thick Geordie #*## also the pride of coming back over the water with our SAFC top on driving round waving at the neighbours would be great.

Why hold back? Soon enough he's going to be going to games knowing the atmosphere/feeling and al the naughty swear words. It's part of the parcel of being a season ticket holder.

So far it seems my 11 year old doesn't want to go. When we lost 5 1 he had to endure a playground full of brand new Newcastle fans. I think its harder for the younguns to be honest. I think as an adult you get used to the banter but he can't cope just yet.

For the first season that my (then 5year old) son was a ST holder, he happily ang along with "Shearer is a rascal, he wear's a rascal's hat. He plays for Scum Utd and he is a bloomin' prat" By the time he'd twigged and was allowed to sing the right words, you could visibly see the glee on his face and the growing realisation that he was now a proper Sunderland supporter.

    Priceless!

Yes there did seem to be an explosion of them round Langley, Witton, Sacriston, mind the bloke who got on the bus on the Monday with an old Greenalls top on was cringeworthy.

Your right on the money there marra, he goes to Edmondsley School ! Amazing how many black and white lurkers there are around here. His arms are really short for windmilling so come Monday he will be skilled in the art of brandishing a stick with some dog shit on the end.
