Even if they are shite a tiny smear of super glue will ensure they aren't

get a wooden rail type one with 4 or 5 hooks on, and some of that no-nails stuff, and short screws to hold it on to your hollow door til the glue sets, - rock solid mate.

They are shite, fall off when you hang anything that weighs more than a sock on them, and leave a load of sticky foamy shit on said door that is a pain in the arse to remove.

I've got hollow doors that sound like they have been made from cardboard boxes and padded out with coco pops, but I didn't even give it a thought - just bought standard coat hooks with the relevant length screws and got to work and they haven't feel down yet like.

These self adhesive coat hooks have become a bit of an obsession with me and I do feel compelled, when I see them' to have a look.
However I do find the quality of the adhesive to be somewhat of a problem and very much a case of 'hit or miss' or should I say 'stick or fall off'.
I initially, around 4 years ago decided to invest in a pack of four rather snazzy ones, teddy bears with up turned noses as the hooks.
The idea was to use them in the entrance of my apartment, affixed to the wall. I planned to hang an assortment of things on them, door and motorbike keys, a yellow plastic torch that has a handy black plastic flexible loop, by ID neck card plus other assorted things.
They were fine and attracted much attention from visitors, in particular females who took delight in tickling the little bears under their hooked up noses.
The second from the right hook was the first to suffer from the weight of the torch. It happened one evening when I was watching some obscure Chinese TV programme about cuisine in Guangdong. The chef was explaining, behind plumes of smoke and occasional flames the length of time needed to deep fry big ugly beetles when suddenly there was a crash and a smash. I discovered my torch, broken on the mock granite floor tiles of my front entrance. It was broken beyond repair despite my efforts to super glue it back into a re useable shape. I kept it though under the sink in a shoe box incase it came in useful in future.
Unfortunately Chinese house decorating involve the applying of cheap emulsion of inferior quality, watered down and applied haphazardly to concrete walls.
The coat hooks had stuck well to the emulsion but the emulsion had not adhered to the concrete wall.
The next incident occurred when a similar fate happened to my keys but luckily they survived and can continue to be used.
I now use little sucker coat hooks which are really quite innovative and are, in my opinion, the way forward.
