    Default Laptop Help

Have bought a new laptop and transferred all my files to the new laptop and now need to reset the old one back to fatory settings when i bought it so that i can flog it on flea bay. My old laptop has windows 7 on it which was installed when i bought it and i didn't get the windows Cd's so i cant just 'format the fucker' and start again like i have in the past. The earliest restart point is only 2 months ago so i cant do that either. Is there something built into windows 7 that lets you restore it at a click of a button?

1, Go to Control Panel>Program and Features and remove all unwanted software.
2, Go to Control Panel>User Accounts and create an account e.g. call it Laptop
3, Log off then login to Laptop account.
4, Go to Control Panel>User Account and delete all previous accounts.
5, If you think you still have pics, videos and audio on the Laptop then go to My Computer then C: , in the top right corner you'll see a search bar. Type the following into the search bar:

Type: mpg, mpeg, avi, mov, jpeg, jpg, bmp, mp3

Then hit enter, this'll do a search on the C: drive for the above file types, if you see anything you want rid of then delete it

    What make laptop is it?
Normally the harddrive has a hidden drive which contains the windows files needed to restore back to the beginning. I've got a Packard Bell, and when you turn it on, I keep tapping F10 then I get a hidden menu screen, this then wipes out everything and puts the laptop back to when I got it. Different manufacturers may have different key combinations though.

If you go down this route, remember than anything you delete can easily be undeleted... so if you do this, afterwards make sure you install Eraser (http://eraser.heidi.ie/index.php) and run it so that it properly erases all the blank space you have remaining.
