    Funny how he's described as 'solid' because it's Phil Bardsley. Why not just come out and say 'Bardsley played really fucking well today'. See, it's not that hard, I just did it

    Solid is a word regularly used when describing a defender who has had a good game. Ferdinand, Onuoha and Elmo were also solid today.

    Because "solid" says what you said but also describes the style in which he did it. He was hardly "creative" or "incisive".

    For me he has to do something special for that. Bardsley never will. Credit to the lad for performing well though - he is not a liability at the moment.
