if we had snow and low temperatures as predictably and for as long as they do perhaps we would have resources put into the necessary provision the way they do. As it stands we dont so your council tax goes elsewhere. Last winter was unprecedented...until this autumn

Main roads as far as Fife are fine, OK through Fife on M90 (dont take the short cut via Glenrothes from Dundee instead), Edinburgh city bypass still has some issues, big freeze tonight wont help but no fresh snow. Start of the A1 similar for about 20 miles, neither 'risky' or anything though, just you might be held up by slow traffic there is no way past. South of that is fine. A1 definitely your route rather than Coldstream or A68.
