    Aye.

After all the bills are paid we have about £400 left to feed the family and petrol costs without my wage coming in. And we have no real debt to be honest and have not got a silly mortgage either.

So any job would bloody do in all honesty. One thing I won't be doing is sitting on my arse getting hand outs if I can help it.

More worrying is the Mrs could also be out of a job in December 2011, but will worry about that then, as of course the tory job fairy will create loads of new jobs by then, so I should be back in work.

How longs a piece of string...

depends on what responsibilities you have such as mortgages, kids, exwifes etc.

age is a big factor too.

if I lived at home and was relativley young then 1K a month I could suffice happily..

Just as well I've always looked 20 years younger than I am.

The pay is alreet at the minute and its a permanent job, but when the building work picks up again I will hopefully going back to doing contract work which probably pays about an extra 50%.

good luck to you mate, but you've got the right attitude. might be worth getting anything at all short term, maybe a couple part time jobs just to put a bit aside

any signs that it might pick up in the new year (March/April) or are you expecting it to be a bit longer even 2012?
