average for the area is around £20,000 slightly more for Newcastle around £21,000

Your probably right , but end of the day aslong money coming in it shouldnt matter what area of work it is. For example say you got offer a job and the salary was 37,000 a year,I wouldn't really mind what work it was (obviously within reason)
