    Default Spyware Doctor v Avast

I picked up some nasty spyware a couple of weeks back and ended up paying to download Spyware Doctor that seemd to do the trick. I also downloaded Avast for free and this got rid of some stuff too. Is there one which is better than the other or do they do the same job (Just that I still have them both)?

I'd keep Avast as the antivirus and download Malwarebytes Anti-malware and run it maybes once a month.

It's been a while since I downloaded Avast and from what I remember you have to look carefully at their site to make sure you click in the right place. Ideally they'd like you to buy it and it's easy to click on that. The free jobbie is there though, just takes a bit of finding and sorting out.

Now I've typed all that I bet they've changed the flippin web page since I was there.

The way it was explained to me was that the pay for jobs simply do the same job as Avast but add some extra bells and whistles as extra services which you don't really need anyway, or can source for free elsewhere if you need to.

Yep I got the free version of Avast.

Just noticed too that I have Hitman Pro? Do I need this if I have Avast and Malwarebytes?

Is Avast better than Microsoft security essentials?
