Default January will test Short, Quinn and Bruces' resolve

whether or not we have the ambition to finally kick on to achieve what we deserve after tolerating years of dross. To become a top four challenging team or confirm Alan Brown's theory that we are and always will be a fringe club. Yes, I'm talking about hanging on to who we've got no matter what the cost and building on that. Discuss.

If we can do it in the next 6 or 7 games and stay top 6 comfortably by mid january we should seriously go for it. N'Zog and a top class full back!

You mean what the more level-headed posters on here have been shouting at you for the past two seasons, then...

I must have missed us turning into a selling club have I?

More often than not we've let them stagnate and not move them on quick enough.

Whos to say there'll be millions to spend...maybe only the money to buy up loan players.??
Quinn and his mates had a 5 year plan...which didn't look too good when Keane left...but is on target this season for a challenge of the European positions..
2 years to be promoted...1 year to survive...1 year to mid table ...then year 5 up with the better outfits..
Nowt was mentioned about the top clubs...if 7th or 8th is achieved this season then everyone should be happy..

Think you're getting a bit carried away... top 4 indeed...!!

Lets just be happy to be in the Premiership for a few seasons and enjoy some top half finishes.... thats been a long time coming, let alone top four!

    Can't expect miracles straight away....

Take the top 4 out of the equation and anywhere fro 5th to 9th is achievable with a decent squad . Villa , Everton and Spurs should be our benchmark
Be nice if we strengthen come January and who knows what could happen

The only player we would be likely to sell in January is Henderson and i can't see him going anywhere then. I think clubs will step up their interest in the summer but whether we sell him or not then will depend on how we have done, what we look like achieving next season and what the money being offered is so i guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Only thing i would do in January (barring any major injuries or anything) is to bring in a goal scoring midfielder like N'Zogbia and, if possible, permantly sign Elmo, Onouha and Welbeck.

I'd rather we spend any money available on securing Mensah, Onouha and Welbeck on permanent deals.
