Unfortunately many of the WW1 paper records were destroyed in an air raid in 1942 so any site you use will be incomplete.

i have been on that ancestry site, a canny bit but with no luck as of yet.
cant believe how common my surname was back in the late 1800s and up to and including the 1st world war

I got a copy of my great grendads medal card from the National Archive
