Re: I'm not a hooligan Mr Quinn
Good post Riviera. Shame it's been derailed by silly posts. Would be nice to see the club looking after its loyal fans.
I'm no fan apologist for hooligans. There's a few posters on here who I feel nothing but pity for, as they talk about the glory days of fighting, while they're heading into middle age. Sad really.
But the central station lads are a different kettle of fish. There's something rotten about the whole thing, and they're in legal limbo.
As an Irishman I've been a big fan of Quinny since I was very young, and he's not daft enough to just assume all of these guys are hooligans. There's more to it. Are his hands tied? Is it aboard decision? Are the local coppers involved in the decision?
We need to know why the club are acting like this. I'm not a Sunderland local, and I live in Oz, yet I'm still annoyed about it. So, how must the Sunderland residents feel about it.
Would be nice to hear something from big SNQ about this.

Re: I'm not a hooligan Mr Quinn
Judging by the comments on several of the many, many threads started by the OP, I would disagree with the title of this thread.

Re: I'm not a hooligan Mr Quinn
The club has basically shit all over the lads involved.
How can they 100% stand by Bramble (not knowing the full facts) as they weren't there yet 100% not back the lads at central.
They even had the cheek to send out renewal forms to those not allowed to attend even though they had missed 2/3rds of last season.
The "innocent UNTIL PROVEN guilty" should apply in all walks of life but in this case it hasnt. The clubs hierachy should hang their heads in shame.

I respect your views mate and know you know more about this than me, but I don't for one minute think that Niall will ban people on his own accord. Surely if the poliss are guilty all the way through this, it must include the bans too?

Good job the defendants solicitors can be bothered to read their defence statements.

Re: I'm not a hooligan Mr Quinn
I'm a normal law abiding person but I do have a bugbear with this type of investigation... you wait for ages until most of the anger has died down then it turns out the police did nowt wrong - it always seems to happen in all cases of people vs police unless it is blatantly blatant... just look at the Menezes investigation or the fella killed during the G8 riots (even when the autopsy was discredited) theres always an excuse...
I could be wrong but I have a funny feeling I already know the outcome of this one

Spot on. I see what Dirty Bristow is saying after this post of yours and it is valid, but the least I would have liked is a guarantee from the club that innocent fans will get refunds and they could even have a statement saying "after discussions with police we have decided to ban those involved until such time as they are found not guilty", the police couldn't complain about that statement but it would let us know it isn't the clubs decision.

Re: I'm not a hooligan Mr Quinn
the fact fans who have already had the case dropped against them havent been refunded for the games they missed is a huge black mark against the club
