    Default 4-4-2 or 4-5-1......

if we'd played one or the other all season, which would have yielded more points?

4-5-1 for me, we might have scored more goals 4-4-2 but we'd have conceded a lot more imho.

winnable games, especially at home- 442

agreed, at home we need to start collecting wins not draws, the Cattemole 4 points would have made such a difference !

I think Bruce has had his hand forced by circumstances such as Campbell's injury, the sendings off and the quality of the opposition ............ with Gyan fit, and Welbeck settling in, I think he'll know that we need to be winning games.

So far I think it's been correct to have mainly played 451 and I'm not sure against those sides and in those circumstances that had we played 442 we'd have scored more goals. You never know I suppose - at the moment draws against Liverpool and Man Utd (IMO) dont look as good as they first did given how recent sides have done against them.

Now however we have we have to start to utilise some of that £13m we spent on Gyan and not totally rely on Bent, because if we stick to 451 we'd maybe have been better off spending £9m or so of the money on someone like N'Zogbia, though again it wasn't really possible as we'd have had no cover whatsoever up front.

    4-5-1 against the 1 point'ers, changing to more of a 4-3-3 against the 3 pointer'ers

much as it pains me to say it but its 4-5-1.think it depends on who we play also, against lesser teams at home we should play 4-4-2 though.

To me i dont think we would concede any more than we have. The difference this year is our back 4 especially bramble, have been fantastic. Half the time in 451 we play welbeck on the wing who isnt a midfielder and doest work like one so often stays forward so were pretty much playing 442. The difference this season is were playing proper football, entertaining to watch and playing very well against teams, playing 442 would just increase our chances of scoring more. otherwise it was pointless signing gyan as well
