Help regarding new dog
I got a 2 month old Golden Labrador yesterday, and last night all it was doing was howling. Anyone know what the problem is, and how I can solve it?
Cheers in advance, I only got an hours sleep last night

Yep, he's missing his mam & sleeping with all his other pups. Either get a soft toy that has the scent of the mother/siblings on it or get him to associate a soft toy with quiet.
Do not give in & sit stroking/pandering to him/her. It will take months...

Re: Help regarding new dog
Whatever you do, dont let it sleep on your bed or in your bedroom, you will regret it. Also, hopefully you have someone in the house on a regular basis or look forward to walls being chewed through (the plasterboard kind, not brick), kitchen doors looking like weetabix etc
Lovely breed mind

Hi. I have a 3 month old Lab and we had a similar problem. They are very affectionate dogs and it was probably just feeling scared of being in a new environment. Is it possible for you to put the dog's bed in your room so that you can get some sleep as well? Ours only did that for a few nights and was then fine after that, but she's still sleeping in our room. It might also help for her to have a warm stuffed animal in her bed with her as she's probably used to having her siblings with her.
I'm not sure if any of this will help, but I hope so - they are the best dogs ever!

Re: Help regarding new dog
simply get pissed before going to bed thus enabling you to sleep through the howling
