    Great album. Saw them live a few years ago. A very odd band.

    IIRC Marquee Moon the album is only £3 on Amazon, no reason not to buy!

    Yup. Patti Smith hosted Meltdown at the Royal Festival Hall. Television came over and played one night.

    Verlaine was very introverted, spoke very little, and hardly acknowledged the audience. Spent most of his time between songs tuning his guitar endlessly.

    Sometimes it seemed like he was too old, and struggled to get the notes flowing, but when he did it was incredible. It was like he was playing for himself rather than playing for anyone else.

    At the end Patti joined them for a couple of encores.

    Glad that I saw them - they were the most intresting band from the punk/new wave era (tin hat on..).
