1 year ago today
My 16 year old cousin died after a battle with leukemia.
Just shows the lack of justice in this world sometimes.
(apologies for depressing thread, no downers intended)

Bad crack that mate.
I agree, but it is teh way of the world. Just earlier this week I read about a bloke who has been sentenced to life in jail for raping, torturing and murdering his 13 year old neice. It isn't fair that people like this are allowed a life still when people like your cousin die so young.

Bloody hell, I feel like single handedly executing the man myself only just reading about it. God knows how the family must feel.
Awful.

sorry to hear that mate.
what happened to my cousin is that the chemo takes away your imune system, and she contracted septicemia with no way of fighting it off.
she had fought off the leukemia well for a couple of years, and all of this was quite sudden. I'd say survival chances are quite good, it just takes one bad turn to make it all sour unfortunately.

I cant even begin to understand how hard it must be to lose your own child. I hope to god that I never ever have to experience such a horrific event in my lifetime.

it's so sickening mate. lost my uncle aged 48 to bladder cancer, he was a cracking bloke who lived for his wife and kids, enjoyed going to the match and having a laugh.
