    Default Empty seats in Delhi

whats the crack? too expensive? no interest?

seems mental that such a populous country cannot fill small arenas

too expensive and as the majority of the country is poor it doesn't help, lack of star names competing and the biggest reason the fact that the indians are shite at pretty much all the events and have no chance of winning medals.

That's true of the athletics and swimming but they have good chances in most other sports. 10 golds already so second to the Aussies in the medal table.

In general you're right though. Most locals can't afford the tickets (although they are dirt cheap by our standards). It's a big country as well so, realistically, there aren't going to many people travelling from southern India to watch.

I'd actually be interested to know what percentage of India's population know the games are on.

Sat in the pub a mile away from the stadium necking Kingfisher and watching it on Bangladeshi TV.

Loads of bairns who can't remember the low crowds of the Sub continent Kabbi Championships of the 80's and early 90's are crying about it on the Indian Message Board.

There's a big outbreak of viral fever in Delhi at the moment.....not quite epidemic but big nonetheless
