    Any Metal Detector enthusiasts on here nlike.....?

    Might be buying a second hand one (for a laugh) like, wondered what people have found on their travels..?

    Had one as a youngun, found nowt but half a horse shoe and a few rusty nails.
    Still supposed to be millions/billions worth of stuff still waiting to be found

    Anyone know what the law is if you find something of national interest..?

    I think, and I may be wrong, but anything found within grounds of the National Trust belongs to the NT, but anything found in non-NT land is yours to do as you please.

    in some instances you have to share with the landowner, but you need his permission to be there detecting anyway

    now that im wanting to avoid the current wife a lot iv'e been thinking of doing some of this metal detecting, theres lots of Roman history round cumbria like, how much will one set me back >>/???
