Did we really sell Whitehead for £5million?

The former Sunderland skipper's dogged and industrious playing style certainly won over the City supporters during his maiden campaign at the Britannia Stadium, following his £5,000,000 move from Wearside in July last year.

The Abingdon born midfielder, who already boasted over 200 top flight appearances, established himself as a vital member of the City squad throughout the campaign as he featured in all but two of the Potters Premier League encounters.

Equally as adept on the right hand side of midfield as he is in the middle, Dean has also filled in at right back making him an invaluable member of Tony Pulis' squad.

A player with a bit of a reputation for grabbing the odd goal, Dean will have been disappointed to have only hit the back of the net once last season, and will be looking to add to his tally throughout the 2010/11 campaign.

That's true but a fee like that is a bonus, I remember at the time the fee was undisclosed but £5million, Quinn must have been rubbing his hands.

Fact is Stoke got an established premier league player who only missed 2 games last season. £5m is quite cheap for that

I'd imagine Stoke were the ones who wanted to keep the fee undisclosed
